Dr. Jörg-Eden Kluin has a Ph.D. in physics, is a German Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney, and a Representative for Intellectual Property before the Office of the European Union.

Dr. Kluin is a specialist in the technical fields of metallurgy, solid-state physics, semiconductors, polymer physics, general mechanical engineering, motor and energy technology, automotive engineering, and aerodynamics.
Dr. Kluin possesses in-depth knowledge and experience in all areas of intellectual property law. His core activities include advising and representing clients when obtaining, defending and enforcing technical intellectual property rights (patents and utility models) and non-technical intellectual property rights (trademarks and designs). Dr. Kluin is also experienced with drafting and implementing licensing agreements and with the German Act on Employee Inventions.
Career
Dr. Kluin studied mechanical engineering and physics at the University of Braunschweig and at the University of Göttingen, majoring in thermodynamics, solid-state physics, metallurgy, and experimental physics. Dr. Kluin also completed a specialist training course in radiation protection during his studies.
Dr. Kluin earned his Ph.D. at the Institute for Metal Physics at the University of Göttingen in 1989. From 1989 to 1991, Dr. Kluin worked at the Institute for Metal Physics at the University of Göttingen as a Research Associate. Dr. Kluin thereby supervised numerous metallurgy and superconductivity research projects, taught and examined students, while at the same time developing a novel highly accurate measurement technology, and publishing numerous scientific and academic articles in renowned scientific journals.
Dr. Kluin worked as a researcher and lecturer in polymer physics at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1991 to 1992 in order to expand his knowledge of material sciences and of English.
Dr. Kluin has been a Patent Attorney in the Federal Republic of Germany since 1996, and an European Patent Attorney and Representative for Intellectual Property before the Office of the European Union since 1997.
Dr. Kluin was a partner in several patent law firms before establishing his law firm in 2005, now KLUIN Patent.
As of January 01, 2023, Dr. Kluin is no longer a partner of the law firm KLUIN Patent, but is only active as a freelancer in an advisory capacity

Dr. Kluin was born in 1959, is married, and has two children. Dr. Kluin is fluent in both German and English. Dr. Kluin is a member of the German Association of Patent Lawyers, the EPI Institute of licensed representatives at the European Patent Office, the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys, the German Association for Commercial Legal Protection and Copyright e.V, the Association of Specialists in Commercial Legal Protection, the Federal Association of German Patent Lawyers e.V, and the Association of Patent Lawyers in North Rhine-Westphalia e.V.
